Opening performances 3-6 april 2019 - Les Brigittines, Brussels
Lenght: 30 minutes
Parachuted into a no man's land with only a large piece of white card as luggage, a character goes in quest of an imaginary world to escape from the void that assails him. The seemingly lifeless object turns into a partner, in a game in which the rules and who is master is uncertain.
A graphic landscape is drawn from their fusional relationship in a constant turnaround between comical situations, poetic pictures and bloodcurdling intrigues : the card assumes the wings of a bird, becomes a shifting table, shines like a celestial body, but closes ineluctably as a trap. At heart, an enigma, close to a sense of the absurd, which foils any clear understanding, is it possible to come back to reality without wandering indefinitely in the phantasmagoric labyrinths?
Not without a nod to Lewis Carroll’s novel, Alice evokes a fanciful and luminous relationship with solitude, sailing ceaselessly between inner dread and enchantment.
